Nestled amid the impressive mountains of Grindelwald, the Hotel Jungfrau Lodge is a place to breathe deeply, recharge your batteries, and enjoy active pursuits.

Since 1908, our family has run the hotel with love, passion, and a deep connection to the region.

Today, I, Renata Märkle Nufer, am the fourth generation to run the Hotel Jungfrau Lodge – supported by a team that welcomes every guest as we ourselves would like to be welcomed: openly, warmly, and genuinely.

And the fifth generation is already ready to continue the family tradition with new ideas.

What makes the Jungfrau Lodge so special? Here are some comments from our guests:

    Facilities & rooms: It offers rooms (many with mountain views and/or balconies, some with views of the Eiger) and vacation apartments. The rooms often have their own bathroom. A breakfast buffet is served, often praised for its quality.

  • The location: Centrally located, with breathtaking views of the Eiger. Grindelwald train station is about a 5–7 minute walk away, and the town center is 10–12 minutes away. A bus stop (local and ski bus, free with guest card) is about 100 meters away.

  • Service: Our staff is described by our guests as extremely friendly and helpful.

  • Activities: Hiking and cycling trails start right outside the hotel. Ski passes and tickets for mountain railways and cable cars (e.g., to the Firstbahn, Kleine Scheidegg, Jungfraujoch) can be purchased directly at the reception. In winter, it is ideal for skiers.

The hotel consists of the main building (the lodge) and an annex, the Annex Crystal. The Annex Crystal is repeatedly praised in many reviews for its particularly good view of the Eiger North Face.

Almost all rooms in both buildings offer breathtaking views of the famous Eiger North Face. Here you can enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery.

Breakfast and reception are located in the main Jungfrau Lodge building, where all guests are welcome to enjoy the amenities of our hotel.

We have a limited number of free parking spaces in front of our hotel and at the Annex Crystal. Unfortunately, it is not possible to reserve in advance.

Grindelwald offers numerous world-famous attractions: the Eiger North Face, the Jungfraujoch – ‘Top of Europe’ – with the longest glacier in the Alps, the UNESCO World Heritage Site ‘Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch’ and much more.

Take the ‘FIRST’ cable car from the village center to the FIRST mountain station, the ‘Top of Adventure’. Or visit the ‘Eiger Glacier’, ‘Kleine Scheidegg’ and the ‘Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe’ with the ‘Eiger Express’.

The central starting point for these destinations is the new Grindelwald Terminal. From here, you can also take the gondola to the Männlichen mountain station and enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau.
